PEP Sheet, what you need to know

Carrying out a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) means evaluating the environmental impact of a product throughout its entire life cycle. This includes all stages, from raw material extraction to end-of-life, encompassing production, distribution, and use.

A product Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) allows to:

  • Identify and quantify environmental impacts at each stage of the product’s life cycle
  • Highlight the stages with the most significant impacts and improve environmental performance (energy consumption reduction, recycling, reuse, etc.)
  • Support eco-design (use of more sustainable materials, reduced environmental footprint, etc.)

The methodology for conducting a Life Cycle Assessment, standardized internationally by ISO 14040 and ISO 14044, follows four main steps:

  • Defining the objectives and scope of the study
  • Inventory analysis and data collection
  • Evaluation of environmental impacts
  • Interpretation of the results

ECLATEC uses the EIME LCA tool, software developed by LCIE Bureau Veritas–Codde, to carry out the Life Cycle Assessment of its products and quantify their environmental impacts.
The results of these LCAs are presented in a standardized format in a PEP sheet (Product Environmental Profile) and are available upon request from your advisor.
